Philly Inquirer Endorses Ashley Ehasz (PA-01), Slams Fitzpatrick
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 18, 2024
Bucks County, PA – Yesterday, the Philadelphia Inquirer Editorial Board endorsed PA-01 Democratic nominee Ashley Ehasz, touting her experience as a combat veteran, commitment to protecting reproductive rights and defending democracy, and willingness to hold Trump accountable. They also slammed her Republican opponent, Brian Fitzpatrick, on his anti-abortion voting record, inability to stand up to Trump, and unwillingness to show up for PA-01 voters.
According to the Inquirer: “A public official who can’t make their case for reelection should not be reelected.”
“[Fitzpatrick] voted for a 20-week national abortion ban, against legislation that would have codified Roe v. Wade, and for defense budgets that blocked the military from paying for female service members to travel to obtain abortions.”
“In short, when it really matters, Fitzpatrick has been on the wrong side of history. His inability to stand up to Trump or support women’s rights is a major concern if the former president is reelected and Republicans maintain control of the House.”
“Voters in the 1st District should give Ashley Ehasz their support.”
The Inquirer endorsed Fitzpatrick in 2018 and 2020 but endorsed Ehasz in 2022 and 2024.
